Township Supervisor Kenneth Verkest

Ken Verkest is a lifelong, fourth generation resident and proud graduate of L’Anse Creuse Public Schools. Ken was elected as a Harrison Township Trustee in 2008 and has been the Supervisor of Harrison Township since 2011. Prior to becoming Supervisor, Ken worked in the automotive manufacturing and tooling industry for 27 years. Ken and his wife Debbie have been married for 27 years and have been blessed with three daughters: Christina, Veronica, and Julia, as well as two nephews and a niece: Daniel, Brooklyn, and Nicholas.

Ken has served on various boards and commissions for our township: Zoning Board of Appeals, Downtown Development Authority, Clinton River Public Advisory Council, Selfridge Base Community Council, 41B District Court Management Council, and the Macomb Health and Fitness Foundation.

Ken is a lifelong member of St. Hubert Church and is active in several groups: the St. Hubert Knights of Columbus, the Belgian American Century Club, Meals on Wheels, and the L’Anse Creuse High School Band Boosters. He enjoys hunting and fishing, vegetable gardening, woodworking, and bowling.

Ken is proud to live, work, and serve in Harrison Township.
