Township Trustee Lawrence Tomenello

Lawrence ‘Larry’ Tomenello was elected to the Board of Trustees in November 2008 to serve a four year term beginning November 20, 2008 and re-elected for a second four year term in November 2012. Larry was re-elected as Trustee for a third term in November 2016. 

Larry received his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Leadership from Baker College. Larry currently serves on the Special Olympics Michigan/Wertz Warriors Board of Directors as Vice Chairman and has been involved with Special Olympics Michigan since 1991.  Larry is currently employed at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan holding the position of Data Center IT Manager.  He is a certified ITIL professional and possesses other Information Technology Certifications.  Larry has been an employee of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan since 1975.  Larry is a Licensed Residential Builder as well.

Larry is extremely active in the community. He is currently a member of the Harrison Township Planning Commission.  He is also a member of the Michigan Society of Planners.  He has served as Planning Commission Chairman and Planning Board Member since 1999.  He also partners with Board Member Brian Batkins and manages the Parks and Recreation Department.  Larry coordinates all Parks and Recreation events sponsored by the township.  Larry also serves on the St. Hubert Finance Committee.  He is the Chairman of the St. Hubert Annual Fall Festival and a member of the St Louis/St Hubert Knights of Columbus.  Larry is a past board member of the Huron Pointe Homeowners Association and continues to participate as a liaison to the Harrison Township Board of Directors.  

Larry is married to Susan, and has two sons Michael and Eric.  Michael attends De La Salle High School in Warren and has earned his 3rd degree black belt. Eric  attends St. Mary’s Grade School in Mt Clemens and is active in baseball and soccer.  Larry is an avid fisherman, boater and snowmobiler. He also spends his spare time raising funds for Special Olympic Michigan Winter Games.
