Application for employment

Welcome to our Harrison Township Fire Department website!

It is my distinct honor to serve as the Fire Chief of this department and to the citizens of our incredible waterfront community. We at HTFD are committed to professionalism and excellence and are prepared to serve when called upon!

Since its inception in 1945, HTFD has created a storied tradition of being a progressive Fire-Rescue department. We were the first licensed paramedic fire department in the state of Michigan to provide transporting services to their community. In 1981, HTFD established the first Dive Rescue Team in Macomb County. We are currently working on reinstating our Dive Team in an effort to bring back this unique rescue niche to the citizens and visitors of our abundant waters.

The IAFF Local 1737 professional full-time firefighter/paramedics who make up HTFD are dedicated to the citizens of our community. Our firefighters train and continue to educate themselves in an effort to provide the best level of service that Harrison Township expects and deserves.

HTFD has two fire stations that collectively respond to over 3100 Fire and EMS incidents annually. We also provide water and ice rescue services for those who find themselves in danger. Our community can rest assured that we will make every effort to help those who are in need of our professional services.

Thank you for allowing us to serve such a supportive and tightly knit community. We are proud to continue the tradition of “Our Family Serving Your Family”.

Sincerely,
David A. Bostater, Fire Chief
Harrison Township Fire Department
